Man gets locked in a London Waterstones: Twitter reacts hilariously

Ever wanted to spend a night in a bookshop? The bibliophile’s dream actually came true for one tourist after he was locked in Waterstones last night.

David Willis got locked in the Trafalgar Square store after going upstairs for 15 minutes. Thankfully, the Texan had his phone to hand and was able to tweet the store.

The alarms were blaring and Willis apparently even took a customer’s call, but nobody came to let him out.

After thousands of retweets and hours of waiting, Willis, who became known as the Waterstones One was finally freed not long after midnight.

Needless to say, Twitter users found the whole thing hilarious.

Waterstones also produced a handy guide should the situation ever arise again. Bravo, Waterstones.
