The Sun refuses to back down over Queen Brexit claims – and says there’s MORE to be released

Newspaper in row with Buckingham Palace

It seems The Sun is pretty adamant that the Queen wants the UK to leave the EU.

The newspaper has refused to back down in a row with Buckingham Palace, after it claimed the Queen supported a Brexit.

While Buckingham Palace refuted the claims and said the Queen would never take sides, The Sun has hit back, saying it has more evidence to support its claim.

The palace has lodged a formal complaint with the Independent Press Standards Organisation (Ipso), which is set to investigate The Sun’s two anonymous sources.

In an interview with ITV, the editor of The Sun, Tony Gallagher, said the newspaper would abide by any Ipso ruling and also that he didn’t think his job was on the line.

“We do know more than we printed,” he said.

“Part of the reason why we didn’t put all of that in the public domain was to protect our sources. We do reserve the right to use some of that information.”

“We will defend ourselves very very stoutly,” he added.
