There’s snow hope: Capital to be hit by icy blast

Jack Frost is coming to London, bringing ice, and possibly snow

Following the warmest December ever recorded, the mercury is set to nosedive as the UK is dealt an icy blow from Jack Frost.

The unseasonably tepid temperatures are to end later this week and are to be replaced by near-freezing conditions.

This is expected to make commuting and travelling hazardous, and outside London, rain will compound recent flooding disasters.

The Met Office’s Mel Harrowsmith said: “For many, the weather during the coming week is likely to be the first experience of winter, with either frost, wintry showers or even snow affecting many areas of the UK.”

Daytime temperatures are set to range from freezing to 5C. That’s pretty nippy.
