One Hyde Park apartment to rent for £200,000 a month

A One Hyde Park apartment has been put up for rent for an eye-watering £200,000 a month.

The five-bedroom Knightsbridge home, that costs £45,000 a week to rent, is close to six times the size of an average London home.

The home’s master bedroom comes with “his” and “hers” bathrooms and dressing rooms, and a south facing balcony terrace.

It also has five reception rooms, six bathrooms and access to wine cellars and two parking spaces.

Simon Price, head of super prime lettings at Savills, which is handling the property, told the Standard: “It is the outstanding building of its type in London, there is nothing to match it yet.”

According to Land Registry records, the flat was bought for £56.26m by a St Vincent and Grenadines-registered offshore vehicle called Motion Incorporation.

One Hyde Park was built as a joint venture between Christian Candy and the former prime minister of Qatar, and interior designed by Candy & Candy. Completed in 2011, the apartment block is made up of 86 residential apartments, exclusive shops including Rolex and McLaren Automotive, private spa, gym, swimming pool and cinema.
