Kensington garage on market for £300,000

Property prices in London are already so high that to understand the significance of the figures involved requires either a decent grounding in metaphysics or a masochistic lack of regard for the number of zeros involved in any given sale.

Brain melting figures are nothing new in the world of London property, but sometimes what people are actually prepared to throw money at does raise suspicions of insanity somewhere along the line.

The latest case in point is a garage in Kensington that is on the market for a cool £300,000. At almost £50,000 more than the average home, this 240 sq ft space is big enough to house two cars.

Foxton’s estate agents, listing the garage says: “Located in a highly sought-after area of Kensington, this generously proportioned garage is nestled in a quiet mews moments from Hyde Park.”

It adds: “The property is ideally located for easy access to Kensington High Street where you will find a comprehensive range of amenities, fashionable restaurants and bars.”

The listing also says there is “space for two cars”, and that the garage is in a “peaceful location”. So your cars won’t have to put up with undue noise.
