In pictures: What it's like to be dangling from the 68th floor of one of the world's tallest skyscrapers

Dangling from the 68th floor of a 1,776-foot skyscraper is definitely a nightmare that came true for two window cleaners yesterday.

The pair were seen trapped in a downward-tilting scaffold hung on the glass side of the World Trade Centre.

To rescue the workers, firefighters had to cut a holes through one of the glass windows.

A police official said the partially collapsed cradle was hanging at “a 75-degree angle”.

The rescued men, Juan Lopez and Juan Lizama, were stuck for nearly 90 minutes but thankfully, weren’t injured.

Reginald Moye, who watched the incident from a nearby hotel, told CNN: “I see two heads dangling over the scaffolding and one of the guys — they just keep looking down. They look like they’re maybe five feet in the middle of the scaffold, hanging.”
