No Trousers Day pictures: surprisingly casual tube passengers in their pants

An alien crash-landing on earth would be confused by many of the world’s traditions, but this one seems bizarre even to us.

Yesterday was No Pants Subway Ride Day, or as we call it in the UK, No Trousers Day. (NB. For any non-Brit reading this, “pants” means underwear over here – a very very important distinction in this case.)

For some reason, this custom is observed in many of the world’s countries, such as the US, Canada Spain, France, Belgium, Mexico, Poland, Ukraine and, of course, over here in Blighty.

We LondonlovesBusiness.com journalists, being of a notoriously shy profession,  wouldn’t know what to do with our face, let alone the rest of us, if we were being photographed in our pants in a public place. However, this lot seem to pull off the casual pale, corned-beef thigh, pretend-it’s-not-cold look effortlessly.

Take a look at the best pictures from the tube network yesterday.
