Half of adults have trouble spelling common words – how many of these can you spell?

Ever been embarased by the dificulty you ocasionaly have spelling words? You’re not the only one who has struggled to aquire the relavent and necesery disipline.

(OK, that’s annoying, I’ll stop.)

A study has found more than half of the population have problems spelling common words.

The research, by TV station Nick Jr. UK, found more than 50% of 2,000 adults struggled to spell words such as “mischievous”, “occurrence”, “colleague” and “weird”, and 40% said they relied on a spell checker.

Despite this, nearly half of those surveyed said they judged people with poor spelling.

Here are the 50 most common words that people have trouble with:
