Old London and more features in "Best of Archive" Getty exhibition

The world’s largst commercial photo archive, with over 90 million images, is throwing an exhibition of its very best shots over the ages in the heart of London.

In the Getty Images’ exhibition, Best of Archive, visitors will get a glimpse into a treasure trove of images, including vintage prints from the late 19th century.

The exhibition runs until Saturday 1st June - with the admission completely free. The photographic collection ranges from reportage and social documentary, fashion and portraiture, cultural commentary to architectural studies.

Louise Garczewska, Director of the Getty Images Gallery, says: “To truly bring to light the Best of Archive, we would have needed to take over the entire length of Eastcastle Street, so instead we have filled our corner with a small showcase of the world’s finest photography. We are delighted that this collection will give our visitors a flavor of the quality and scale of the archive.”
