Fashion's future stars: Trine Lindegaard

London Fashion Week comes to a close today with menswear, so we thought we’d showcase and emerging menswear designer to polish off the stylish season

1.       What makes your collection different from everything else out there?

There are so many amazing London based menswear designers around at the moment, but I think my bold embellishment and bright use of colour is quite different to what is already around.   

2.       How do you plan to sell your clothes, and has anyone bought or invested in your collection?

I am currently selling on ASOS and am lucky to have very supportive private customers. I am also doing a T-shirt collaboration called Move Me Shirts with the textile designer Elisabeth Buecher. We are currently selling at Magma, Green & Fay and will be stocked at the Tate Modern from next month.  

3.       Where would you like to see yourself and your label in a year, and have you got a business plan to take you there?

Yes I have got a business plan. First of all I need to get stockists. I will need to be selling my clothes in larger numbers to be able to outsource my production, so far I have been doing all my production in house, which takes too much of my time and stop me from fully focus in the creative parts.

I am also planing to be doing more projects and collaborations.

4.       What does it mean to you to be based in London?

I am originally from Denmark, but I have grown to really love London since I have been living here for the last seven years. London feels like home for me now. I live and work in Hackney and I get very inspired by the odd mix of people here. London is great for starting your own business, there is a lot of help and support to get, and there are so many people doing similar things, which is great and truly inspiring.
