Is Google set for a $30bn foreign spending spree?

The insatiable buccaneers at Google have amassed a war chest loaded with $30bn, which the company has set aside for foreign acquisitions, it emerged yesterday.

London’s booming tech scene was put on alert after the disclosures which came from a letter the company sent to the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

The letter also revealed that Google failed to close a major overseas acquisition in December 2013.

The company may also be in line to spend $4bn on offices and data centres outside the US, the Evening Standard reports.
