Ukrainians to stage London protest at Crimea invasion

Ukrainians living in London are set to protest in the capital today to demonstrate their opposition to the build-up of Russian troops in the Crimean region.

The protests, which will take place at Downing Street and outside the Houses of Parliament, will urge the British government to take action against Vladimir Putin’s decision to send in 6,000 airborne and ground troops to the Crimea in what could be the beginning of a larger invasion.

The Ukrainian protesters are expected to be joined by Polish, Russian, Georgian, Syrian and Lithuanian protesters.
