This is Nigel Farage’s biggest regret

Nigel Farage has talked about his biggest regret in a programme going out on Channel 4 tonight.

Speaking to Steph and Dom – the posh couple from the channel’s popular programme Gogglebox – Farage admitted his biggest regret.

He said he wished he was able to spend more time with his young daughters from his second marriage during his political career.

Farage said he’d missed out on his girls’ childhoods and sacrificed a lot of his personal life to politics.

When asked about his children, the far-right party leader said: “I’ve got regrets about that. Big regrets. My first marriage - I got divorced in the 90s - I spent loads of time with my kids, the boys, as they were growing up. I worked in the City so 5, 6 o’clock on Friday it was over, didn’t start again until Monday morning.”

“So I had time for the kids as they were growing up, the boys. And I guess my daughters have seen less of me than they probably should have done.”

Farage also talked about how he didn’t think he would ever be prime minister, saying he didn’t want to be anyway.

“There are two types of people in politics: those who want to be something and those who want to do something. I want to do something. Changing things in the country and changing the debate really interests me.”

Steph and Dom Meet Nigel Farage is on tonight on Channel 4 at 10pm.
