The men who carried out the terror attacks at Brussels airport yesterday were brothers, according to the Belgian broadcaster RTBF.

Khalid and Brahim el-Bakraoui were known to police and had criminal records before the attacks on Tuesday morning. So-called Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the suicide bombings.

There were two attacks in Brussels yesterday, a twin bombing at Zaventem airport and an attack on the Metro.

A total of 34 people were killed and 250 wounded.

It is thought the men were part of the same group as Salah Abdeslam, the main suspect in the November Paris attacks, as Khalid el-Bakraoui rented a flat in the Forest area of Brussels where police found a fingerprint from Abdeslam.

A third man, Najim Laachraoui, who appeared on CCTV with the brothers at the airport, is being sought by police.

UPDATE 9.56am - Police confirm Najim Laachraoui has been apprehended.
