Nick Clegg is David Cameron's "prophylactic", says Boris

London Mayor Boris Johnson has called deputy PM Nick Clegg a “lapdog who has been skinned and turned into a shield” for the Prime Minister and said his role was to serve as a “prophylactic protection device” to David Cameron.

The attack came during Johnson’s monthly LBC radio phone-in, after he was asked if he agreed with Clegg that the cuts announced by the Chancellor George Osborne yesterday were too extreme.

Clegg had criticised Osborne’s “economically illiterate and extreme” policies, after the Chancellor said a further £25m needed to be cut from the welfare bill.

Johnson initially refrained from telling listeners what he thought: “I don’t want to get into some sort of endless ding-dong with poor old Cleggers.”

But then went on to say: “He’s there to perform a very important ceremonial function as David Cameron’s kind-of lapdog come prophylactic protection device for all the difficult things that David Cameron has to do.”

“You know what I mean?” he asked radio presenter Nick Ferrari.

Ferrari replied: “No actually I don’t know what you mean and I don’t know if I want to know.”

The use of the word Condom for Nick Clegg, the Deputy Prime minister United Kingdom, has illustrated the education, family background and domestic training Boris Johnson has acquired.

  • If Nick Clegg is David Cameron's condom, doesn't that mean Boris has effectively called the PM a cock?

    Double-edged slam from BoJo there.
