Boris Johnson to “try to stand as MP” in 2015

London Mayor Boris Johnson has said he will “in all probability” try to stand as an MP at the general election next year.

Ending the will he/won’t he media speculation of recent months, Johnson made the remarks at a question and answer session after a speech in London about Britain and the European Union.

Johnson said: “I have not got any particular seat lined up, but I do think … in all probability I will try to find somewhere to stand in 2015.”

Johnson also added that people should not “underestimate the possibility of this going badly wrong.”

Johnson said he would see out his term as Mayor of London, which runs until 2016, and the issue of which seat to target would be a matter for the Conservative association.
