5 graphs showing UKIP's phenomenal rise

UKIP did extraordinarily well in the EU elections last week. After what many thought was a poor performance at the local elections, the votes for the European elections were counted and UKIP came out on top. The controversial party received 27.5% of the vote at the European elections, giving them 24 MEPs, ahead of the other three main parties.

In the local elections UKIP didn’t fare as well…

…meaning the party still may have a long way to go if it wants to be sucessful in the general election next year…

…but membership numbers are growing quickly.

  • There are peaks of different parties every 10 years or so. This time, it's UKIP's turn, but I can't see them winning the next general election *crosses fingers*
