Why has the iconic London Routemaster been given a colourful makeover?

The iconic new Routemaster has been given a rainbow makeover in honour of London’s diversity.

The colourful bus will be in operation for a year, mostly on the number 8 route which goes through some of London’s most famous landmarks such as St Paul’s Cathedral and Brick Lane.

The rainbow design, which was sponsored by Stagecoach, also marks the anniversary of Transport for London’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) staff network group, OUTbound, which was formed 10 years ago.
