Tube strike averted: RMT and TSSA call off industrial action

Millions of commuters in London are now able to breathe a sigh of relief as TSSA and RMT unions have called off the Tube strike..

Talks between TSSA and TfL officials at Acas today resulted in an agreement which has meant that the strike action has been suspended just a day before a second 48 hour tube strike was set to begin.

A satatement has just been released by Acas: “Talks have adjourned at Acas this morning. London Underground will be writing to the trade unions with some proposals to end the dispute.

“We are hopeful of a positive outcome so that the proposed industrial action will be withdrawn.”
