Londoners want lower Tube prices more than anything else

Londoners want cheaper Tube tickets more than anything else for Christmas this year, a survey has found.

Asked what should be the biggest priority for the London Underground, 49% of Londoners said lower fares, according to the YouGov poll for the Evening Standard.

The next most popular was longer opening hours with 16%, while 11% of people most wanted line upgrades.

People who said they had less money to spend this Christmas were most in favour of lower fares, with 58% of this demographic saying that should be the biggest priority for the London Underground.

Tube fares are set to go up in January an average of 2.5% across the capital.

  • It really is crazy that the tube is not a 24 hour service!
