June rail strike called off

The rail strike that was due to happen later this week has been called off.

RMT union officials have come to an agreement with Network Rail bosses after another offer was put forward.

The union had been set to a hold 24-hour strike on 4 June from 5pm and a 48-hour strike from 5pm on 9 June over pay.

General Secretary Mick Cash said: “Following extensive ACAS talks throughout the weekend RMT has now received a revised offer that enables us to suspend the planned industrial action while we consult in full on the details of the revised package with our Network Rail representatives.”
