Is the Tube strike on Wednesday 17 September going ahead?

At the end of August, we reported that there was a Tube strike planned for Wednesday 17 September.

We’re relieved to report that the strike action has now been suspended – in other words, the strike won’t happen on Wednesday.

“Useful face-to-face talks on Thursday allowed us to suspect the action,” Finn Brennan, district organiser for the train drivers’ union ASLEF, told us.

London Underground’s chief operating officer Phil Hufton said: “’I am pleased that we have been able to conclude the issues raised by ASLEF which means that strike action will be suspended on Wednesday 17 September.

“This dispute is over a number of local concerns, all of which have either been resolved or are issues we have committed to addressing.”
