24-hour Tube strike set for Thursday has been called off due to ‘progress’ over talks

Here’s why

Thursday’s 24-hour Tube strike that would affected all Tube lines that would have caused “significant disruption” has been called off as “progress” has been made during talks with Aslef.

Aslef members were due to walk out at midnight over their ongoing dispute, Finn Brennan, Alsef union representative said, “sufficient progress” was made.

Brennan was “pleased” the strike was called off however, he warned: “Our ballot remains live and we will not hesitate to call action in the future if needed to ensure all the commitments made are fully delivered.”

The mayor of London, Sadiq Khan said he is “pleased that this strike action has been suspended and that discussions can continue without disruption.”
