Edward Snowden joins Twitter. Here’s his witty first tweet

He’s one of the most famous whistleblowers in history and now he’s on Twitter

Edward Snowden, the former National Security Agency (NSA) worker who fled the US after leaking thousands of documents, has posted a witty first tweet.

The now Russian-based fugitive follows only one account – the NSA – and tweeted this as his first tweet:

He’s already attracted more than 900,000 followers and has only produced seven tweets (at the time of writing).

  • He is not a whistleblower. If he was he would still be in the US justifying his actions and if necessary defending himself in court.

His actions were different. He ran away rather than facing the consequences of his actions. That makes him a coward. Worse still he ran to Putin's Russia. That shows him to be at best a monumental hypocrite and at worst a traitor.
