Economic growth fastest in six years

The economy recorded some strong growth in the second quarter of this year – in fact, we had the fastest GDP growth in six years.

According to revised figures from the Office for National Statistics, the economy expanded by 3.2% in a year. This is up 0.1% on the previous ONS estimate and 0.2% more than the pre-downturn peak in 2008.

It went up 0.8% during the Q2 of 2014, which is the same pace as Q1.
