London businesses scoop Euro awards

London businesses came out strong at the European Business Awards, scooping up five awards.

The Wednesday event saw five London businesses – Aecom, dotDigital, Essence, GeoTraceability and TelecityGroup – all become “National Champions.”

A total of 16 British companies secured the prize in a very good year for British industry.

The European Business Awards have run since 2007 and reward businesses for innovation and ethical practices.

Since 2007, the European Business Awards has been shining a light on the most innovative businesses on the continent by promoting success, innovation and ethics in the European business community.

In 2011, the EBAs engaged with over 15,000 organisations in over 30 countries. Participants represented a combined turnover of over €1 trillion Euros and employed over 2.7 million people

Design company AECOM helped develop parts of the 2012 Olympic park and is now working on Rio 2016. It employs 5,000 staff in Europe and 45,000 worldwide.

Digital marketing firm dotDigital has witnessed explosive growth in the last 18 months and has seen major success through its email marketing platform, dotMailer.

Digital agency Essence has managed to build itself into an international brand. It works with tech giants like Google, eBay and Expedia.

GeoTraceability Ltd. is part of parent company Armajaro Trading. The two specialise in sustainable agricultural commodity supply chain management. GeoTraceability ensures that every bag of cocoa, coffee or cotton sourced by Armajaro is traceable - right back to the farm where it was harvested.

TelecityGroup has grown to become Europe’s largest provider of carrier-neutral data servicing all your data needs. The company is passionate about improving energy efficiency.
