Here’s how Brits are ruling the pop charts worldwide

British acts dominated the album charts globally

Britain has been responsible for more bestselling albums than any other country over the last year, thanks to the likes of One Direction, Ed Sheeran and Coldplay.

Artists from Britain made up 13.7% of worldwide album sales – higher than any other country, and the best result for the UK since music industry body BPI started tracking sales in 2000.

One in seven albums sold last year were by British artists, with Brits snatching five of the top 10 slots.
